Although the weather was an inclement on the 5th April 2011 the school athletics carnival at Charlie Bali Reserve was an outstanding success.
The constant drizzling of rain did not dampen the enthusiasm or the enjoyment of the countless number of students that participated in both track and field events. The only events that had to be cancelled were the high jump and the hurdles due to safety reasons.
Our sports coordinator, Mr Nicholls, has become a master of organising successful events in adverse weather conditions. Our year 10 coordinator, Ms Atai, supervised a wonderful group of year 10 students who operated the canteen and a very popular B-B-Q.
To add to the spectacle of the day Ms Trimmis organised a crazy hair stall where students could have their hair dyed in house colours. This had a duel purpose as it was also a fun way to raise awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis NSW.
Congratulations to all students and staff for a great day!
