Match Report

Richmond High were a formidable outfit, with a number of their girls rep soccer players.

Richmond entered the game taking Plumpton High for granted, thinking we were easy beats!

Plumpton shocked Richmond with an opening goal to one of our star strikers after only 4 minutes. Plumpton received the ball after a series of nicely timed passes down the left hand side of the field and slotted the ball past the Richmond keeper.

Richmond tightened their game following our goal and we entered half time 2-1 down.

Plumpton was certainly still in the match, but very clever and tight play from Richmond frustrated our girls and the usual composed nature of our team disappeared as we started to play panic catch up football.

Plumpton had chances in the second half but were unable to capitalise and the girls went down 3-1.

I would like to thank all the girls for their time and effort. The skill that was on display for each game was truly amazing to watch and I am personally honoured to coach (coach must be used very loosely, as I'm more a game coordinator than coach as I'm sure the girls will tell you!) the girls and look forward to next year when we can go even further.
