Applications are now open for after-school music lessons in guitar, bass, voice or keyboard in association with Stormer Music. Years 7 to 12 Parent, Teacher & Student Night 2018 is on Tuesday, 27th of March from 3:30 - 7:00pm. 2018 Resource Allocation Model funding

In October 2017, all NSW public schools will receive a 2018 Planned School Budget Allocation Report. The report will assist with the management of the total budget delivered to schools through the Resource Allocation Model (RAM). The Resource Allocation Model (RAM) methodology distributes funding based on the individual needs of students and schools. This gives schools greater flexibility to make local decisions. HSC Minimum Standard

Students in NSW will need a minimum standard of literacy and numeracy to receive the HSC from 2020. This change will not affect students sitting for the 2017, 2018 or 2019 HSC. Students with an intellectual disability undertaking Life Skills English or Life Skills Mathematics in Years 10, 11 and/or 12 will be exempt from the HSC minimum standard requirement. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) started in NSW in July 2016, rolling out across half of the state. The rollout for the rest of NSW started on 1 July 2017 and the NDIS will be fully rolled out by mid 2018. Measles outbreak in Western Sydney

A measles outbreak in western Sydney has infected people including three children, with health authorities warning that the cases spent time at the Children's Hospital at Westmead while infectious. People with measles symptoms should seek medical advice as soon as possible phoning the emergency department or GP beforehand, stay home from work or school, and limit other activities to avoid exposing other vulnerable people, such as infants, to the infection. Introducing Healthy School Canteens

The introduction of the revised Healthy School Canteen Strategy increases the availability of healthy food and drink options in school canteens to make the healthy choice, the easy choice. It replaces the Fresh Tastes@School Strategy in NSW schools that was commonly known as the traffic light system.
